Le Mans 24-Hours

The first Le Mans 24-hour race took place in 1923 - 90 years ago. Since then the race has become one of the most prestigious races on the calendar, and seen many classic battles between some of the most evocative names in racing.

Michael and Graham Turner have visited the Le Mans 24-Hours many times and it has inspired a large number of paintings. All those that are available as prints or cards from Studio 88 are listed here, organised into decades.

1920s & 1930s
The Bentley Boys.

1950s
Jaguar dominates with the C-type and D-type.

1960s
A decade defined by the classic Ford versus Ferrari battles - the mighty big engined GT40s taking on the beautiful Ferraris.

1970s
Porsche's first two wins at Le Mans with the classic 917, followed by a victory for Matra, and more victories for an ever dominant Porsche and the successful Ickx and Bell partnership.

1980s
Porsche's decade with multiple wins for the 956/962, and the successful challenges of Jaguar and Mercedes in 1988 and '89.

1990s
Mazda, Peugeot, McLaren, Porsche - victories for many different manufacturers as Group C ends.

2000s
Bentley returns.
