After their catastrophic defeat at the battle of Towton in 1461, Lancastrian survivors retreated within the walls of their Northumberland strongholds, the castles of Warkworth, Alnwick, Bamburgh and Dunstanburgh, keeping the cause of King Henry VI alive. Here, an archer wearing the Percy family livery keeps watch from this bleak, coastal outpost.
