THE JOUSTING ARTIST - PAS D'ARMES IN BERN, 2008

In conjunction with their major exhibition on Charles the Bold, Duke of Burgundy, the Historisches Museum in Bern, Switzerland, held a tournament over a two week period from July 30th to August 10th 2008. Graham Turner was one of the four knights taking part in this Pas D'Armes, loosely based around the story of Jason and the Golden Fleece (Graham represented one of challenges Jason faced in his quest for the Golden Fleece, hence the bull's head shaffron and horned crest) and his experiences gained from jousting over such a long period of time will undoubtably influence his paintings in the future. Below are a selection of photos from the event.
