(Reference #Gic-G179-L)
Duncan Hamilton pursues the leading Ferrari of Gonzales and Trintignant in the closing stages of the rain-soaked 1954 Le Mans 24 Hours, a long pit-stop having reduced the gap from 8 minutes down to 2 - putting victory tantalisingly within reach of the Jaguar team. Despite his best efforts, Hamilton and Rolt -winners in 1953 - had to settle for second, a fine achievement on the Jaguar D-type's debut race.
